Whether it is playing the lottery or going to the casinos, the American public is obsessed with trying to "Hit the Big One".  The same holds true in the courtroom. Economic damages are not enough any more. Pain, suffering and punitive damages are what the plantiff attorneys are obsessed with - and they will do anything possible to achieve their goals, including unethical conduct, tactics to trick the opposing team, coaching their expert witness, and downright dishonesty.  It is no longer about trying to seek the truth, but instead, it's all about the money! 

Over 19 Million lawsuits are filed in the U.S. each year.  That's one lawsuit every thirty seconds.  The U.S. has 5% of the world's population and 80% of the world's lawyers.  90% of all lawsuits in the world happen right here in the U.S. According to the American Bar Association, there are close to 700,000 lawyers in practice in America.  That's one lawyer for every 400 men, women and children! Just read the paper, look at the billboards while driving or turn on the T.V. and you soon realize that there are many hungry lawyers looking for clients with a reason to sue. Most of us living in the U.S. are potentially at lawsuit risk.  If you own a business, practice a profession, or own investment property, you have a one in three chance of being named in a lawsuit this year.
