■Survey: Mastectomy patients prefer silicone implants over saline
Women are more satisfied with the look and feel of silicone implants, rather than saline implants, for breast reconstruction after breast cancer surgery, a survey of 472 breast cancer patients found. "Women tell me [silicone] feels more natural and they prefer the look," said the survey's leader, Dr. Colleen McCarthy, a reconstructive surgeon New York's Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
